Gli appennini Lunari con il famoso cratere Copernico, la missione apollo 15 è atterrata in questa zona nel lontano luglio del 1971, venne scelta la "Rima di Hadley" nel massiccio degli Appennini lunari.
Curiosità: L'emblema della missione Apollo 15 fu disegnato dallo stilista italiano Emilio Pucci, a cui venne commissionato direttamente dagli ingegneri della NASA.
La catena montuosa degli appennini si estende per circa 600 km, la vetta più alta è il Monte Huygens, che con i suoi 5500 m di altezza è anche la montagna più alta della Luna."
